Campus Commons
A gateway to UNC's Campus
Campus Commons, or the Commons, is an entry point and wheel hub to UNC's campus, serving as a central point for visitors, current students and alumni alike. In addition to welcoming guests and showcasing the arts, the Commons provides open and reserve study and hangout spaces, rehearsal rooms and more to complement the neighboring University Center.
Finished in 2019, with the support of many generous donors and alumni, the Commons signifies how UNC is facing the future: with student support, a welcoming presence, cool art, beautiful music and really good pie.

Parking
Pay-to-park lots are south of the Commons and north of the University Center. You may pay at a kiosk, or use the Passport Mobile Pay app for short term parking

The Campus Commons is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold Certified by the U.S. Green Buildings Council. Learn more about the certification.
Get Comfortable
Warm yourself by the fire pit and watch the sun set over the Rockies from one of the Adirondack chairs on the patio space between the Commons and the University Center.
Old and New
The social stairs, a focal point of the Commons when you enter from the south entrance by the main parking lots, are made of wood that was reclaimed from railway cars.

Art Gallery
The UNC Galleries program brings in top talent — including alums — to create installation art and shows in this glass-enclosed space that also hosts events for the arts community.

Bear Central
On the second floor of the Commons, students will find the Registrar, Bursar and Financial Aid offices all in one place. Bear Central makes it easy to take care of business.

Campus Tours
The Office of Admissions greets visitors for presentations in the Bear Pride Room and campus tours on the first floor of the Commons. New Student Orientation also welcomes incoming students in the 400-seat multipurpose room.

New student orientation welcomes incoming students to Campus and introduces new Bears to the UNC community, on campus resources for success and the opportunity to create new friendships.

Performance Hall
Future stars from UNC’s performing arts programs, as well as diverse groups brought in from around the world, entertain the community in this 600-seat performance hall.

UNC Ticket Office
Audiences pick up more than 115,000 tickets each year from the UNC Ticket Office, gaining them access to athletics, theatre, music, dance and student activities functions.
